We have had the pleasure of booking The Caribbean Crew Steel Drum Band and our steel drum players for weddings, rehearsal dinners and corporate functions at hundreds of the top resorts, restaurants and venues throughout Florida, Georgia and South Carolina. That’s a lot of driving! Luckily we have the old faithful Cocobean Buggy (featured in the picture above). People often ask “What is your favorite venue to perform at”? So we asked our entertainers and the winners were:
Favorite Venue – Paradise Cove in Orlando – We probably book more weddings here than any other venue and it truly reminds us of back home in the islands. There is a nice, laid back vibe and it is very accessible for the entertainers. We are on their Preferred Vendors List for entertainment.
Runner up – The Tavern and Chapel in the Garden – located in Port Orange, FL. It’s like something that came straight out of a story book. – Steel Drum Venues
Favorite Hotel – The Vero Beach Hotel & Spa – It is so beautiful and the staff is awesome! We are also on their Preferred Vendors List for entertainment. This is where Creig and Neisha celebrated their 10th Wedding Anniversary and renewed their wedding vows. Please see the picture below.
Runner up – The Sandpearl Resort – located in Clearwater Beach, FL. This is another gorgeous hotel on one of the nicest beaches in Florida.
Some of the more popular venues that we book our Caribbean Entertainment are listed below. We start in Orlando, then head north-west to Gainesville and then the panhandle. After that we come back down south, along the entire west coast of Florida and straight down to the Keys. We then head back north to Miami and continue north along the east coast of Florida, all the way up to Georgia and end up in South Carolina.
Our business is based out of Orlando, so it should be no surprise that this is where we book most of our shows. Most of our corporate bookings take place here, as Orlando is one of the most popular destinations in North America for conventions, trade shows and other corporate gatherings. Of course, the presence of Walt Disney World, Sea World, Universal Studios and all the other theme parks make it a popular destination for weddings as well. Not too far from Orlando is Clermont and Ocala. Ocala is the horse capital of Florida, so we do lots of weddings and house parties either on horse farms, or very close to them. From the reaction of the horses, it seems that they love the beautiful sound of the steel drum as much as the people do.
They say that gators love the sound of steel drum music, so our steel drum players have also performed at the Gainesville Golf and Country Club and in the panhandle at Sunset Beach and St George Plantation. Both of these are located on the beautiful St George Island. Other cities in the Florida Panhandle that we do many beach weddings and corporate functions include: Panama City Beach, Pensacola and Destin. The beaches up there are splendid!

Just south is Sarasota – the home of the newly-weds and nearly-deads. Need we say more? Places like The Colony Beach and Tennis Resort, The Founders Golf Club, Hyatt Regency Sarasota, Longboat Key Club & Resort, Ritz-Carlton Sarasota, Ritz-Carlton Beach Club, Sarasota Municipal Auditorium, Sarasota Outboard Club. Creig’s dad has always loved Longboat Key and says that is where he wants to retire. Of course, we need to convince him to leave Trinidad first. Good luck with that!
As you heard further down south through Sanibel Island, Ft Myers, Bonita Springs and Naples, the events become more elaborate and quite upscale. If you are more interested in having a great party than a fancy wedding, then the Florida Keys are the place for you. We have never done a boring wedding in the Keys. It’s always a full blown Caribbean Party. However, we have still done our share of fancy weddings and rehearsal dinners in the Keys. The Caribbean Crew Steel Drum Band has performed at Casa Marina Resort, Cheeca Lodge and Spa, Gilbert’s Resort, The Heritage House Museum, Hilton Key Largo Resort, Hyatt Key West Resort, Island Palm Estates, Ocean Key Resort and Spa, Pierre’s, Postcard Inn Beach Resort and Southern Division Estate.

Then we come to one of our favorite places, the city of Vero Beach. There is something about Vero Beach that is unique. The Caribbean Crew Steel Drum Band and our steel drum players are very popular down here at places like Costa d’Este Beach Resort,Disney’s Vero Beach Resort, Vero Beach Hotel and Spa and The Windsor. We are on the Preferred Vendors List at Vero Beach Hotel and Spa and The Caribbean Crew is usually the first band that they refer to their clients. This resort is an absolute gem. The Windsor is a private community and probably one of the most beautiful places we have ever performed at. Whether it’s on the ocean side at the beach club or on the golf course by the clubhouse, the sites are amazing!
Again, things get more relaxed and crazy as you head to Sebastian, Melbourne and Cocoa Beach. They really love the sounds of reggae music here and most weddings and even rehearsal dinners often turn into a full blown Caribbean dance party. Places like Capt Hiram’s Resort, Crowne Plaza Melbourne Oceanfront, The Tides Collocated Club at Patrick AFB, Courtyard By Marriott Cocoa Beach, DoubleTree and the Hilton Cocoa Beach Oceanfront.
We now head to places like New Smyrna Beach, Port Orange, Daytona Beach Shores, Daytona Beach and Ormond Beach. These beaches are less than an hour from Orlando and and The Caribbean Crew Steel Drum Band and our steel drum players perform reggae and calypso music down here quite often. Venues include Clay Gallery and The Tavern and Chapel in the Garden in Port Orange. This is a wonderful venue and looks like it came straight out of a children’s story book. North of Ormond Beach is Palm Coast. All by itself on the beach is a true gem. It’s the Hammock Beach Resort. This is another beautiful resort that is a very popular choice for weddings and rehearsal dinners. Our steel drum players perform here very often and we are on their Preferred Vendors List.
St Augustine is one of the most romantic cities in Florida and this is reflected in the weddings. Most of the guys in The Caribbean Crew Steel Drum Band will take their wives with them (not to the gig of course) and stay at a Bed & Breakfast after the wedding or rehearsal dinner. There is so much history in St Augustine and our guys love performing at Anastasia State Park, Camachee Cove Marina, Casa Monica Hotel, The Finch House , House of Sea and Sun, Lightner Museum, Marineland, The Reef Restaurant, River House, The Saint Augustine Boating Club, World Golf Village Country Club and The White Room.
If you love golf, then Ponte Vedra Beach is the place for you. Golf and steel drum music has proven to be a great combination, based on the number of weddings, rehearsal dinners, corporate functions and other special events we do up there. Places like Sawgrass Country Club and Beach Club, Sawgrass Marriott and the Serenata Beach Club.
Jacksonville is the largest city in the United States and The Caribbean Crew Steel Drum Band, our steel drum players, Junkanoo Parade and Moko Jumbie all perform in Jacksonville and Atlantic Beach very often. Another of our favorite parts of Florida is Amelia Island. A vacation on the Amelia Island Plantation is one that you and your family will always remember. It is also a very popular golf destination. Combined with the tranquility, beauty and history, it makes Amelia Island hard to beat. We have booked The Caribbean Crew Steel Drum Band and our steel drum players for just as many corporate functions as weddings on Amelia Island. They have all performed at Amelia Island Golf Club, Amelia Island Plantation, Omni Amelia Island Plantation Resort and the Ritz-Carlton Amelia Island.
Crossing over into Georgia, we come to Jekyll Island and St Simons Island. You don’t really think of Caribbean Music when mention Georgia, but The Caribbean Crew Steel Drum Band can often be heard performing steel drum and calypso music at Beachview Club Hotel, Jekyll Island Convention Center, The King and Prince Beach & Golf Resort and the St Simons Island Casino.
We then head to Savannah, the oldest city in Georgia. This city is breathtaking! It is very popular for destination weddings and our steel drum players love performing here. We have booked them and The Caribbean Crew Steel Drum Band at the Marriott Riverfront, Tybee Island Lighthouse, Wesley Gardens and even on board the Savannah River Queen.
Our final stop is Hilton Head Island in South Carolina. This is another popular area for destination weddings and rehearsal dinners. The Caribbean Crew Steel Drum band also performs up here quite often for corporate functions. It’s probably due to the great golf courses on the island. And as we said earlier, golf and steel drum music seem to be a winning combination. We have mostly booked our Caribbean Entertainers to perform at the Oceanfront Resort Hilton and The Westin Resort.
These are just some of the more popular venues that our entertainers have performed at. We cannot forget the beautiful homes that we have performed at throughout the Southeast United Stated for birthday parties, graduations, anniversaries and other special occasions. We are truly honored that people welcome The Caribbean Crew Steel Drum Band, our steel drum players, Junkanoo Parade and Moko Jumbie into their homes on a weekly basis. They turn to us to help make their celebration a truly memorable experience and this is why we love what we do. We look forward to doing the same thing for you.
